Highlights: Renowned for its holdings of the Wyeth family of artists, the Museum features galleries dedicated to the work of NC Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth and Jamie Wyeth. The Museum’s outstanding Heritage Collection is a cross section of American art, with a special focus on artistic practice in the Brandywine valley. Nineteenth- and twentieth-century landscape paintings testify to the beauty which drew well-known artists to the area. Important portraits, still life paintings and notable holdings in American illustration add diversity and breadth to this unique collection.
Inside Tip: Grassy space is available for picnics outside along the creek. The Museum’s child-friendly cafe features a scenic view of the river, high chairs and a children’s menu.

Highlights: Experience exquisite gardens that elevate the art of horticulture. The new Meadow Garden offers three miles of walking trails within native wildflower plantings, learning pavilions, and the historic Webb Farmhouse & Galleries. The Summer Spectacular in the gardens is extraordinary by day and night through September 5, 2016. Beginning in August you can enjoy Nightscape: A Light and Sound Experience by Klip Collective. It's an evening exhibition bound to inspire. NOTE: there is an additional charge for this exhibit.

Highlights: Owned and developed by Alfred I. duPont (1864-1935), Nemours Estate comprises an exquisite 77-room mansion, the largest formal French gardens in North America, a Chauffeur's Garage housing a collection of vintage automobiles, and nearly 200 acres of scenic woodlands and lawns.
Inside Tip: The 157 jets at the center of the one-acre pool shoot water 12 feet into the air. When they are turned off, the entire Long Walk is reflected in the pool.

Highlights: Hagley Museum is the former industrial site of the original black powder works of the DuPont Company. It was founded in 1802 and powered by the natural resources that surround it. Today it is 235 acres of wooded rolling hills along the rushing Brandywine River dotted with hundreds of stone ruins of the black powder industry, dozens of restored buildings associated with the business, and the original ancestral home and gardens of the duPont family in America.
Inside Tip: Hagley is largely an outdoor experience with much uneven terrain, so choosing weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes will contribute to a better overall experience.

Highlights: Mt. Cuba Center is a botanical garden with a focus on native plants and ecosystems, containing over 50 acres of display gardens and over 500 acres of natural lands. Cuba Center strives to fulfill its mission to inspire an appreciation for the beauty and value of native plants and a commitment to protect the habitats that sustain them.
Inside Tip: Due to the rolling terrain and mulched paths, wheelchair access is limited. However, golf cart transportation to the ponds is available upon request.

Highlights: This twenty-two room Federal mansion, built by George Read II, is surrounded by one-and-a-half acres of formal gardens. Seasonal adornments make the house an enchanting place to visit throughout the year. The museum gift shop specializes in Delaware gifts, souvenirs, and nostalgic toys. Located in Historic New Castle, a National Historic Landmark district with cobblestone streets and town green. Visitors can enjoy a full day touring the quaint historic town, visit museums, shops, dine and take a stroll along the Delaware River at Battery Park.
