It’s a huge undertaking to revamp an entire mission in just a matter of weeks, but Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House in downtown West Chester accomplished that last evening. With their new menu set to debut today under Executive Chef Karen Wienstein, Docs team laid out an array of tasty dishes centered around the FRESH. STARTS. HERE. theme. It focuses on sustainable practices and seafood directly from the source.
I attended the launch event of their new menu (with proceeds benefiting the SPCA) and got a tasting of everything from crab Rangoon on a crispy wanton to lobster summer rolls in a mango sauce. This Docs menu has definitely matured and they’re letting us know.
The event was helped by amazing staff led by managers Annie Moretti and Amber Gladys, who worked 12-plus hour days in the run up to the event training the staff on this menu. The Docs team is taking the successes of sustainable food it has at Harvest Grill and applying it directly to the challenging world of seafood. And it looks to be off to a great success.
