This week’s “Business Spotlight” is Artillery Brewing Company, which is located at 333 Granite Alley (accessible from the backside of Granite Alley, a straight shot down from Gay Street!) We sat down with General Manager, Justin Pearsall, to get the inside scoop.

1. Tell me about your business and what makes it unique.

The Artillery Brewing Company was born amongst the battlefields of the American Revolutionary War, reinvented post-pandemic in the historic Borough of West Chester, and is still pursuing one mission today: to bring the history of The American War of Independence to life through our beer names and labels. We consider ourselves to be “beer activists” in the sense that great beer and great stories go together… and there are so many stories to be shared about this period in American history.

2. What services or products do you offer?

We offer a wide variety of specialty craft beers and food. We pair a diverse line of classic beer styles ranging from American and English to Belgian, Czech, German, and more. We are proud supporters of today’s historic preservation societies and veterans organizations alike, and we are slowly launching our Battlefield Series: a line of beers named after the battlefields of the Revolutionary War. We will be contributing a donation from a battlefield’s namesake beer to its battlefield park, museum, or preservation society that keep the histories alive for all to enjoy today.

3. How long have you been in business?

April marks our 2 years in West Chester!

4. What do you love most about being located in West Chester?

West Chester has a rich history relating to the revolution, and it’s actually one of the reasons we chose to open here in the first place! There is a thriving craft beer culture in the Borough that we really appreciate and are proud to be a part of!

3. What can you tell me about the culture or atmosphere of your business?

We have a down-to-earth, relaxed atmosphere with friendly people and great music! We hold Open Mic Nights every other Tuesday to spotlight some of the amazing musicians in town. You can check our website (www.artillerybrewing.com) for any other music that we may have coming up!

6. Is there anything else you would like to share about your business?

We are SO EXCITED to announce that we are an official Craft Beer Sponsor of the Philadelphia Union and Subaru Park! You can find our beers in the newly-established Craft Beer Corner, located behind Section 133, along with select concession stands throughout Subaru Park.
