Lane PearsonWhen Steven Spielberg’s iconic movie Lincoln was filmed in Richmond, VA, a casting call was sent out for extras. One of those answering the call was Lane Pearson, an attorney with Todd Ratner PLC law firm in Richmond.

“When they announced that they’d be filming the movie in Richmond, it was pretty exciting,” said Pearson. “So I grew a beard and grew my hair long and showed up in a casting call. They said they’d be in touch.”

They were indeed in touch. But what Pearson didn’t know was that he would play Abraham Lincoln, at least for a day. That came about when he was asked to act as a stand-in for Daniel Day-Lewis, the actor who plays Abraham Lincoln.

Pearson knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

It was also good news for West Chester. Lane Pearson shared his experiences of the making of Lincoln, working with Steven Spielberg and meeting Daniel Day-Lewis at the Oscar Extravaganza held February 24 at Milestone Events.

Guests had an opportunity to hear his story as well as visit with Lane while also enjoying samplings of food and Oscar specialty drinks.
