For this week’s “Business Spotlight” we sat down with Ashlee Smith who owns Kati Mac Floral Designs located at 36 South High Street.

Tell me about your store and any particular things you believe make it unique.

Aside from being a full service flower shop, we also work alongside the Kati Mac Education Foundation. The Kati Mac Education Foundation was created to provide a positive space for individuals with intellectual disabilities to learn, train and grow through a meaningful employment experience.

What services or products do you offer?

We are a full service florist offering daily floral arrangements for pick-up/delivery, larger scale florals for all types of weddings & events, and an assortment of plants and locally made gifts such as candles, honey, soap and dog bandanas.

How long have you been in business?

The shop has been open since 2007.

What do you love most about being located in West Chester?

We love everything about this town from the customers to the architecture, but most of all we love the feeling of community you get being in West Chester every day! We love our neighbors and our little corner of West Chester is one of the best!

What can you tell me about the culture or atmosphere of your store?

We strive to make our atmosphere fun, warm and welcoming to people from all walks of life.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your store?

We are very proud of the fact that we work with mainly local farms during the spring, summer and fall. Buying local flowers gives us the ability to connect directly with growers, offer the freshest possible options to our customers, eliminate some of our carbon footprint, and support our local economy!
