Super Science Saturday
November 4 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
| FreeSuper Science Saturday is a one-day workshop for girls in grades 6-12. Its main purpose is to show girls how awesome STEM is, what kinds of careers are out there in STEM, and boost their confidence in their ability to be scientists.
Check-in starts at 8:30am, followed by a welcome address. The girls are then put into small groups (middle school and high school are separated) and are assigned a WCU student leader. The groups visit several different science stations and do hands-on activities led by WCU STEM faculty and other women scientists. The day wraps up with a Q&A session and raffle prizes, ending at 4pm.
This is a free event. Advance registration is required. The event is limited to 160 girls; a wait list will be kept once the event is full. Lunch is provided for all participants.
