Ray Didinger: Looking Back and Looking Ahead
August 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
| $39 – $125Legendary sports broadcaster and author Ray Didinger returns to Uptown with an exciting new event – “Looking Back and Looking Ahead.” Ray will talk about his newly released paperback “One Last Read,” an anthology of his writings over the years, and also talk about the 2023 football season and the Eagles bid to repeat as NFC champions.
Didinger will be joined on stage by his long-time WIP Sports Radio partner Glen Macnow to discuss his 53 years in the sports media, his book which covers every aspect of his career — the highlights and the heartaches — as well as his decision to step away from full-time broadcasting a year ago. After the talk, audience members will be able to ask questions of both Didinger and Macnow.
Didinger was the first print journalist inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. As a columnist for the Philadelphia Bulletin and Philadelphia Daily News, he was voted Pennsylvania Sports Writer of the Year five times. He also won six Emmy Awards as a writer and producer at NFL Films. In 1996, he won the Dick McCann Award for long and distinguished reporting on pro football and his name was added to the writer’s honor roll at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
