Nature Drawing & Painting Workshop from artist Diane Lemonides

This workshop will be a hands-on, roll up the sleeves workshop where you will learn the basics of drawing & painting and how to observe the details of nature from an artist’s perspective. Diane will cover the basics of drawing and painting natural & found objects, samples of which will be provided as part of the class. Once sign-ups have been made, you will receive a welcome email with a materials list. Diane’s botanical work is hanging at Ginkgo Arts, and all work is for sale. No experience is necessary.
The class is limited to 10 people.

Fee:
The workshop is offered free to members of the greater West Chester community. In lieu of a course fee, donations can be made to Natural Lands. This non-profit has been selected by Diane because of her keen interest in preserving open space. Donations can be made at class or at www.natlands.org/support/donate.

 

About the Artist

Diane Lemonides was born in Brooklyn NY and raised on Long Island. She spent summers taking classes at the Art Students League in NYC and attended the Rhode Island School of Design summer program. Diane graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1983 with a BFA in painting, with a focus on illustration. Upon graduation, she moved to Melbourne Australia, where she lived and worked as a painter and graphic designer in magazine publishing for three years. She returned to live and work in NYC, where she was the art director for many magazines and book publishing companies. Diane launched her company, Verve Marketing & Design, recipient of local, national and global awards for creative excellence, which is now celebrating its 30th year. Diane has been a passionate environmentalist and lover of the natural world all her life, from which she draws her creative inspiration. She resides in Glen Mills PA. with her husband Keith. Diane received a certificate in Botanical Illustration from Cornell University and is working on further expressing her painting voice to capture the natural world.
