This Valentine’s Day Philadelphia’s R&B/Jazz Artist Sherry Wilson Butler will present Love Expressions:  Serenades of Unapologetic Divas … Amy Winehouse, Nancy Wilson, Etta James, and Whitney Houston. With jazz arrangements created and backed by the Aaron Graves Quartet, Butler’s powerhouse voice is always uplifting in spirit and will capture your heart this Valentine’s evening.

Sherry’s voice is that of a deep resonating contralto status, yet her performances haunt her audiences with influences of Betty Carter, Diane Reeves, Phyllis Hyman, Nina Simone, and Sarah Vaughn. Still, unmistakably, Butler’s vocal persona stands on its own dynamic accord. After years of touring as a backup singer with Teddy Pendergrass and other Grammy award winning artists Sherry Wilson Butler settled into the Philadelphia Jazz/R&B scene as an artist and educator, winning numerous awards for her work in both areas. This passionate spirit filled woman of God is well respected by her peers, her students and the Greater Philadelphia community as she continues to serve and create.  Sherry and the Aaron Graves Quartet will have you standing up, clapping your hands or taking you on a smooth tranquil journey of inspiring love songs.
