To all the parents and new students to West Chester, WELCOME! Our quaint town is home not only to West Chester University, but also to scores of retail shops, award-winning restaurants and venues for entertainment.

Whether you're visiting to explore the university, moving your son or daughter into housing or coming to town for Parents’ Weekend, West Chester has so much to offer. Walk down our tree-lined streets and take in all of the small-town charm. When you visit Downtown West Chester, you will feel at home.

WHERE TO STAY
While there are many traditional choices for lodging within a few miles of WCU, we have two unique options in downtown and near WCU. Why drive miles to a hotel when you can walk and take advantage of all that the downtown has to offer? The Hotel Warner perfectly blends Art Deco style with modern-day amenities and offers its guests well-appointed rooms, Wi-Fi and continental breakfast.

WHERE TO DINE
Downtown West Chester has over 65 restaurants with choices to fit every culinary desire and budget. Your student probably already grabs a slice at Peace A Pizza or Benny’s, sips on a healthy smoothie from Baco Juice & Taco Bar or picks up a delicious sandwich from Jimmy John’s or The Pita Pit. But, when Mom and Dad come to town, it's time for a nice sit-down meal.

For fine dining, visit restaurants such as Avalon, Limoncello, Mercato Ristorante and Bar or Pietro’s Prime. Craft beer lovers should be sure to grab a table at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, Boxcar Brewpub or Side Bar & Restaurant. For BYOB, dine at Mediterranean, Couch Tomato Café, i-Pasta or Star of India (see our comprehensive guide for more!). If you are interested in a Sunday morning meal, check out our Boutiques & Brunches article. Like to sit outside and watch all of the action on the street? Our outdoor dining guide lists many great options.
