West Chester Borough Council to consider wheel-booting policy tonight
June 16, 2014 | Malcolm Johnstone
West Chester PA -- A wheel-booting policy/program for unpaid parking tickets will be considered at the West Chester Borough Council regular meeting tonight (Monday, June 16) and Tuesday night (June 17), both starting at 7pm at the Council Chambers at Borough Hall, 401 East Gay Street. Free parking is available behind Borough Hall.
The recommendation from the Borough Parking Committee is to use wheel-boots that prevent cars from being moved. They would be used in cases of a minimum of 1 warrant or 5 outstanding tickets.
According to a WCHE 1520AM posting, the owner of a booted vehicle has two options: pay outstanding tickets or make payment arrangements with District Court and provide that proof to the Borough Parking Department along with a proposed $100 fee to remove the boot.
If approved, the wheel-booting program would begin later this year.
