RECENT PROJECT COMPLETIONS in DOWNTOWN WEST CHESTER
Chestnut Street Lofts
60-residential units, with parking, are now available for lease at 117 East Chestnut Street. See details.
124 East Market Street
Known as 124 Market Place, the project has retail on the ground floor and 88 residential units. Image rendering by Spiezle Architectural Group.
$1.4-million in improvements have been made to the 1846 Historic Courthouse allowing court functions to return.
Church Street Improvement Project
New sidewalks, curbs, trash containers, lampposts, and trees have been installed on Church Street between Chestnut and Miner Streets. The $1.4-million project is funded by the Chester County Department of Community Development, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and West Chester Borough.
Apartments at Chestnut Square
Located at Chestnut & Matlack Streets, Chestnut Square includes 205 residential units.
The Uptown! Entertainment Alliance has opened the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, a $4-million redevelopment of the old Armory (Washington and High Streets). Concept rendering by Frens and Frens.

PENDING DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
Mosteller Corner Redevelopment
The E. Kahn Development Corporation and JLoew & Associates are proposing a 60-foot commercial development at the southeast corner of Gay & Church Streets that includes a 10,000 sq ft plaza considered by the developers as the front door of the property. It calls for retail space on the ground floor and office space on the upper levels for a total of 45,000 sq ft. See more.
New permanent exhibit at CCHS
The Chester County Historical Society (CCHS) is creating a $3.7 million multi-gallery exhibition called Chester County: A Place in History. This exhibition provides a dramatic experience for visitors as it focuses on stories of 300 years of Chester County history.
Historic Post Office
The US Postal Service is in the process of selling the existing Post Office at 101 East Gay Street and relocate postal services to another downtown location. See details at Post Office proposes to relocate downtown.
A 120-room, full-service hotel has been approved for the corner of Gay & Walnut Streets.

This project includes construction of 12 single family homes. The final house is being constructed and the project is expected to be completed by summer 2014.
West Chester University Foundation – Dorm C, 704 South New Street
This project includes 653 beds. Completion is projected for summer 2014.
South New Street Parking Garage
Winter has delayed closing out this construction project as the screen wall final change order and some minor punch list items still remain to be completed. It is now projected the final work will be completed by June.
