USA Today called West Chester's Christmas celebration "one of the top ten places to experience the arrival of Santa Claus during the holiday season." The parade comes alive with hundreds of dancers, performers, and musicians making the event a true extravaganza. Dozens of other activities surround the parade, so come downtown early and enjoy all the Christmas spirit. The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce's 37th Annual Christmas Parade is presented by QVC and will be televised on Christmas Day. See parking information.

Weekends in November & December 2016
All aboard Santa's Express! Join Santa for a 90-minute journey on the heated West Chester Railroad through the Chester Creek Valley. Santa greets everyone at Market Street Station, then rides along to Glen Mills. Explore the historic Glan Mills Station where there's plenty of photo opportunities on Santa's lap, so remember your cameras. Live music by Greg Wright & Friends. On board snack car offers hot dogs, hot chocolate and various snacks (cash only). A rain, shine, or snow event. See details.

See students from the West Chester area schools recite Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address from the balcony of the Lincoln Building where Abraham Lincoln's first biography was written and published in 1860. Corner of West Market and Wilmont Mews. Streets are closed for the Old-Fashioned Chrsitmas Parade from 5pm. Details.

Enjoy the magic of the candlelight glow of 400 luminaria lining the perimeter of historic Marshall Square Park. Located on East Marshall Street between Matlack and Franklin Streets; from downtown, walk or drive north on Matlack Street. Assisted by Boy Scouts of America Troop 14.

Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast with Santa. Children get to sit with Santa, share their Christmas wish list, and take a photo so don’t forget the camera. Note that booster seats/high chairs are not provided. At Chester County Historical Society, 225 North High St. Reservations required, $16/person (2 years and over). Drop the kids off at Borough Hall, 401 E Gay, and while they do holiday crafts, decorate cookies, and watch a holiday movie, parents can do some last minute shopping downtown. All materials provided. Must pre-register. Limited to 20 children. See more at West Chester Parks & Recreation.

Handmade baked goods, jewelry, plants and other treasures are part of the annual Holiday Bazaar at The Hickman, a 124-year-old independent and assisted living personal care residence at 400 N Walnut St. Proceeds benefit resident activities.

PARKING TIP --> Your best option for parking in downtown West Chester are the centrally located municipal parking garages.
