It consists of three companies: First West Chester Fire Company; Good Will Fire Company; and Fame Fire Company. The companies are one-hundred percent volunteer and date back to 1799.
A check for $1,500 was also presented to the YMCA PAL program which focuses on improving the lives and futures of children in need by providing safe, supervised quality care for ages 5 to 15.
"I would like to thank all the restaurants who helped raise these funds for these outstanding organizations," said Mayor Carolyn Comitta. "It shows how much the community cares and how we can come together to make good things like this happen."
