Bear Fair seeking Teddy Bears for Children

Fair BearWest Chester PA -- West Chester Borough Hall (401 East Gay Street) is now an official collection point for the West Chester University’s 15th Annual Bear Fair which is now accepting new Teddy Bears through November 30. The collection box is outside of the Mayor’s office. Your donation of a new Teddy Bear goes to children who may not otherwise receive fun gifts during the holiday season.

"I want everyone in West Chester to know that they can brighten a child's season by dropping off a new bear in the box at Borough Hall today," said Mayor Carolyn Comitta, seen at right with students organizing this year's Fair Bear.

The Bear Fair started in 1997 as a WCU student’s service project and has blossomed into a well-loved event that includes donations from individuals, businesses and organizations around Chester County.  This year, the WCU Bear Fair student committee hopes to reach close to 50,000 bears collected. The Teddy Bears are distributed to children in 29 local shelters and hospitals.
