Downtown transforms into a colorful street festival with lots of free activities for the entire family as the Iron Hill Twilight Race Series, West Chester's only professional sporting event, ignites with speed racing. The action begins at 4pm. Besides the professional races, there are block parties, adult tricycle races, and kids games. Presented by the Greater Chamber of Commerce of West Chester.

It's a story of a princess who goes AWOL on an official visit to Rome and falls for a journalist (Peck). Lots of fun, Rome scenery, and scooter riding. Screening at the Knights of Columbus, 110 W Market St. Doors open at 7:30 for cocktails, socializing and a discussion about the film. Movie at 8:00pm. Get tickets online or at the door.

SALUTE to the 97th INFANTRY

Senator Andy Dinniman invites the public to honor the historic Civil War 97th Infantry in a special ceremony in Marshall Square Park. The 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, a Civil War re-enactment group, will stage an encampment with a Civil War Drill Demonstration at 11:45am followed by a ceremony honoring the 97th Infantry. Learn about a day in the life of a Civil War soldier, learn about the heroic actions of two Medal of Honor recipients, and view historical memorabilia. Refreshments available for purchase. Presented by the West Chester Parks & Recreation.

It's the story of a forbidden Victorian romance between beautiful Mina and the beguiling Count Dracula set amidst eerily lit castles and sun-drenched terraces. The tragic story unfolds with impeccable soloing, sensual pas de deux, and exhilarating ensemble dancing. Tantalizing costumes, sword battles, artful makeup and an emotionally moving musical score make Dracula ghoulish fun for all. Performances at Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall. presents the Jazz Cocktail Hour, a Thursday evening concert series, with recording artist and West Chester University professor Terry Klinefelter is a versatile performer who is at home both in jazz clubs or the classical concert stage. She was described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as "on the cosmic cusp where Mozart might meet Mingus." Her 2013 release, Zingaro, features original jazz compositions and standards, as well as several new songs based on the works of renowned poet Dana Gioia. 6pm to 7:30pm at the Knights of Columbus Building, 110 W Market Street. $15 at the door.
